Your space at the Galvestonian is like a coveted box seat in an exclusive opera house where every day is opening day. Though the show may seem familiar, it is always changing, full of many moods and delightful surprises. Pay attention, the Galvestonian is not just a summer destination, though different, it's oftentimes stronger off-season.

Summertime sizzles at the Galvestonian with family fun in the sun in full swing. The pool area is hopping with vitality, while sporting enthusiasts enjoy fishing, boating, windsurfing, volleyball, tennis and swimming. Fresh shrimp and snapper are available right off the boats at pier 19 for cooking in or out on the grill. La King's homemade ice cream on the Strand is summertime sublime.

As the intense heat and light of summer ease into fall, the crowds thin and the colors pop! The atmosphere at the Galvestonian becomes more tranquil and intimate. All the summer activities are still available, and the weather is much more pleasing. The gulf water is warm well into fall and our pool is heated. You can't beat a crisp sunset in the Jacuzzi after an active autumn day. Many Galvestonian residents say October is the best month. Spring is similar to fall, with February and March weather nearly perfect.

After all, spring and fall find Galveston full of festivities. From the Lone Star Biker Rally through Mardi Gras and Spring Break, Galveston is in high party mode.

Why not winter with us? Bring the family to the Galvestonian for a holiday change of pace and form memories you will treasure. At the Galvestonian, whatever the weather, we welcome you with grace and warmth. When the cold fronts blow, the fogs roll in or storms whip and strike, the Galvestonian is a majestic haven and an amazing front row seat. You will have to bundle up to go out, just like home; but, here at the water's edge nature's light and sound show is more intense, enveloping and electrifying. Stay in and watch the show from the warmth and comfort of your condominium cocoon. When you catch the wisdom of the wave you are one with the forces of nature.

Or simply take in one of the many shows on the town. There are three theatres within five minutes of the Galvestonian. The 1894 Grand Opera House where the hilarious "A Tuna Christmas" is an annual must see, and the edgy East End Theatre Company are both on Postoffice Street; the community Strand Theatre on Ships Mechanic Row has terrific shows. Dickens on the Strand, a period festival with roasted chestnuts, hot buttered rum, street carolers and unusual vendors, turns the clock back 100 years. If you don't have a costume; wear dark colors to honor the authenticity of the scene.

Galveston is a great place to Christmas shop early and surprise your family and friends with something unusual from Hendly Market or the Nest. This is also the time to search many of the fun and funky clothing shops like the Firm and Haba's for a fierce outfit you won't find in a mall. Check out Don Fullen's Harborside Jewelry for unique, locally inspired pieces.

Postoffice Street must not be overlooked for art galleries, restaurants and shopping as it rivals the Strand. Every six weeks, spring through fall, downtown shops and galleries participate in Art Walk luring out Galveston's fashionable and fabulous with beverages, snacks and specials that make for a hip social scene.

Tours abound all year round and there are styles to suit every taste. Come experience the Galvestonian for a relaxing and luxurious retreat.
